Lackluster Bears accomplish nothing in dress rehearsal vs. Chiefs

CHICAGO -- The Bears performance on Saturday left Chicago sports fans searching for when the Cubs play next.

Seriously, preseason football is the ultimate exercise in overreaction, but the Bears played like a 3-13 team.

Nothing worked. Almost no one got any better. And the biggest takeaway continues to be how badly the Bears need everyone hurt to come back for the regular season opener two weeks from Sunday. Even then, John Fox’s team has serious improvements to make.

The Bears cannot hide behind the shield of exhibition football forever.

QB depth chart: Jay Cutler had a rough afternoon, completing 2-of-7 pass attempts for 11 yards in half number one.
