DES PLAINES, Ill. -- Chicago Bears guard Kyle Long was at a loss for words on Tuesday when asked to explain second-year quarterback Mitchell Trubisky’s surge in popularity among teammates at Halas Hall.
“I can’t put words to it,” Long said. “What Mitch Trubisky was born with was something that not a lot of people were born with. I can’t explain it. When you’re around him, you feel it and it’s real. Quiet confidence and a sense of calm and comfortability with the situation, any situation he’s put in.”
Long -- formerly an ardent supporter of Jay Cutler -- believes the Bears offense is on the verge of a major comeback.
