John Fox thinks media critics suffer from excessive hot dog consumption

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears coach John Fox took issue with reporters who questioned Brian Hoyer’s failure to locate Alshon Jeffery, who appeared to be open down the left sideline, on the team’s final play from the Indianapolis Colts’ 28-yard line.

Had Hoyer connected with Jeffery, the Bears would have taken the lead with 1:02 left on the clock.

“It could have been an option [going to Jeffery],” Fox said. “I don’t know that you can be super-critical. When you’re out there playing quarterback it looks a little different than when you’re in the press box having hot dogs.
