For the Chicago Bears' passing game to thrive in 2017, Kevin White must finally fulfill his promise.
The seventh overall pick of the 2015 NFL draft, White's NFL career to this point has been a series of disappointments. As a rookie, White developed a stress fracture in his left leg that eventually required surgery to fix, costing the wide receiver the whole season. Last season, White started the first four weeks (19 catches for 187 yards) before suffering a fractured left fibula that ended his season prematurely yet again.
"Obviously, it's not a great start for his career," Bears coach John Fox said at the owners meetings.
