LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears coach John Fox classified Martellus Bennett's ribs injury as, "truly day-to-day" on Monday, but about 24 hours later, Bennett went on season-ending injured reserve with four games left on the schedule.
On Wednesday, Fox explained how Bennett’s status changed so rapidly less than two days after the former Pro Bowler played 60 snaps against the 49ers.
"Well I think you know he got a fractured rib against Denver you know a couple weeks back, and it flared up to the point where we didn't bring him to Green Bay," Fox said.
