When Bears coach John Fox announced on Thursday that quarterback Jay Cutler has played his last snap in 2016 as he prepares for surgery to repair a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder, the logical next question is: Was it Cutler's last snap in Chicago?
If I were a betting man, I'd say yes.
Is it a coincidence that Cutler's potential last throw as a Bear was an interception, or that his final record as a starter in Chicago would be 52-52 (including the playoffs)? Probably. But it's also fitting. He failed to fulfill the promise the franchise thought he would when they acquired him.
