The Bears keep trying to run Ka’Deem Carey out of town, but he’s still here.
Carey can rattle off the only other players still on the roster who were here for the Marc Trestman/Phil Emery years. Of the 20 Emery draft picks from 2012-14, Carey is one of five that remain. A fourth-round pick in 2014, Carey has never rushed for 160 yards in a season, yet here he is at a position known for its attrition, back in Bourbonnais for a fourth summer.
“People don’t understand how hard it is for not being a starting running back to stick around this long and show worth in every camp, show skill and talent every camp for them to keep you,” Carey said earlier this week.
