If Oliver Stone were telling the story of why Jordan Howard lasted 150 picks into the NFL draft, it might be filled with intrigue.
It would feature a scene in which scouts are whispering to one another in the bleachers at Indiana, and then sending emails to one another from encrypted email accounts. It might show crime scene tape, drug tests, bacchanalian parties, surgeries gone bad.
Except none of that happened.
The truth of the matter is NFL teams drafted nine running backs ahead of Howard last May because they weren’t that impressed with his ability.
