Bears general manager Ryan Pace claimed his belief in quarterback just five days after the team announced it would not pick up the quarterback’s fifth-year option for 2021. He said he hopes Trubisky ends up like cornerback Kyle Fuller, whom the Bears decided not to extend an option in 2017 but eventually gave a monster contract.
Pace spoke publicly for the first time since the team decided not to give Trubisky a $24.8 million contract for 2021 — though it would have been guaranteed only for injury — on “Bears All-Access,” the team-sponsored radio show that aired Thursday night on WSCR-AM.
