Chairman George McCaskey is holding Anthony Miller to a different standard than Javon Wims when it comes to Bears receivers ejected for punching Saints pest C.J. Gardner-Johnson.
McCaskey told WMVP-AM’s “Waddle and Silvy” on Thursday that Wims “acted impulsively” when he was ejected for punching Gardner-Johnson, a cornerback, in Week 8. Wims “was immediately remorseful” and “worked his butt off to try to help the team,” McCaskey said.
Miller, though, was warned all week — the Bears held a 15-minute meeting to tell players not to react to Gardner-Johnson’s yapping — and did it anyway Sunday, punching Gardner-Johnson in the third quarter of the wild-card playoff loss.
