The Bears fought to overcome key injuries and a controversial replay reversal that cost them a touchdown before ultimately falling to the Saints 20-12 Sunday in New Orleans.
The offense lost three starters to injuries including tight end Zach Miller, who sustained a gruesome leg injury while hauling in an apparent 25-yard touchdown pass midway through the third quarter.
But referee Carl Cheffers overturned the call, apparently ruling that Miller lost control of the ball when he rolled over in pain in the end zone.
The Saints took a 7-0 lead on Alvin Kamara's 8-yard touchdown run on the game's opening possession.
