Related Topics: Win, Carolina Panthers

Rookie safety Eddie Jackson led a dominant defensive performance that carried the Bears to a 17-3 win over the Carolina Panthers Sunday at Soldier Field.

Jackson made history in the first half Sunday, staking the Bears to a 14-0 lead by scoring a pair of touchdowns on a 75-yard fumble return and 76-yard interception return.

In the process, the fourth-round draft pick from Alabama became the first player in NFL history with two defensive touchdowns of at least 75 yards in the same game. Jackson also became the first Bears player with two defensive TDs in the same game since Fred Evans in 1948.
