The Bears have taken additional moves to stabilize the secondary, this time reportedly re-signing cornerback Johnthan Banks. Last year, the Bears claimed Banks off of waivers when the Lions parted ways with the 27-year-old.
Banks has had an interesting path through the NFL. Originally drafted #43 overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the defensive back out of Mississippi State would later play for the Detroit Lions before ending up on the Chicago Bears. For his career he has 7 interceptions and 18 passes broken up, but most of his stats were accumulated playing for other teams (he didn’t join the Bears until December 2016).
