Jaye Howard, released by the Chiefs, is to visit Chicago according to reports.
Howard has been a productive run defender for the Chiefs in the NFL, but offers little as a pass-rusher and has only one season with more than 500 snaps to his name.
In 2015 – his best season – he posted seven sacks, 41 total pressures, 39 defensive stops and earned an excellent grade against the run.
Chicago had excellent play against the run in 2016 from Akiem Hicks (80.9 run defense grade), but NT Eddie Goldman played just 197 snaps with injury and Mitch Unrein’s run defense grade of 70.
