Bears defensive lineman Ego Ferguson has been suspended without pay for the next four games for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances.
Although Ferguson is on injured reserve, the second-year pro's suspension will begin immediately and not carry over to next season.
Ferguson was placed on season-ending injured reserve Oct. 17 with a knee injury. He appeared in four of the first five games with one start, recording nine tackles.
Selected by the Bears in the second round of the 2014 draft out of LSU, Ferguson played in all 16 games as a reserve as a rookie, registering 27 tackles and two sacks.
