Deiondre’ Hall suspended for one game for substance abuse

Chicago Bears safety Deiondre’ Hall has been suspended without pay for the first game of the 2018 regular season for his violation of the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse, the team announced in a press release. Hall is still able to participate in preseason practices and games. The news was first broken by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Hall, 24, was the No. 127 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. A standout cornerback at Northern Iowa, he amassed 13 interceptions during his collegiate career. Since being drafted by the Bears in the fourth round, he has struggled to stay on the field, as he has only played in ten games over the past two seasons and has only tallied one interception in that time.
