Dave Wannstedt offers strong opinion on Roquan Smith holdout

The Chicago Bears wrapped up their first week of training camp practices and are still without linebacker Roquan Smith, who joins only Jets quarterback Sam Darnold as the two first-round holdouts.

There's been speculation from all corners of the football universe as to why there hasn't been a meeting of the minds, with the most common assumption being a deadlock over offset language.

Regardless of the 'why,' former Bears coach Dave Wannstedt suggested a selfish agenda is at play.

“It really doesn’t make much sense. For a rookie to hold out because of some fine print, it’s pretty selfish from an agent standpoint to do that," Wannstedt told reporters at training camp.
