NEW ORLEANS — Thirteen seasons after Chiefs’ special teams coordinator Dave Toub unveiled his trick-play masterpiece — one that was canceled out by a penalty — the Bears pulled it off.
In the season finale last month, the team put DJ Moore as a punt returner had regular returner Josh Blackwell block a gunner. The Packers punted the ball to the right but the Bears’ blockers ran left as though the ball was going to Moore. Blackwell sprinted to a spot on the right flank, caught the punt and ran 94 yards for a touchdown.
