Cutting Trey Burton doesn't solve Bears' glaring issue at tight end

About a week and a half before Trey Burton went on injured reserve last year, I had an enlightening, honest discussion with the now-ex Bears tight end. Notably, Burton admitted he wasn’t playing well and said he apologized to quarterback Mitch Trubisky because, as he put it, “I need to hold up my end of the deal."

But Burton also vocalized a truth about Matt Nagy’s sputtering, woeful offense.

“Usually when this type of offense is doing well,” Burton said, “the tight end’s doing well.”
