Cutler conducts youth football camp

The former Vanderbilt star conducted the camp for 55 participants ages 7-15 at Pope John Paul II High School in Hendersonville, Tenn. The school's head varsity football coach is Justin Geisinger, a former offensive lineman who played three seasons with Cutler at Vanderbilt.

A silent auction was held as part of the event to raise money for the Jay Cutler Foundation. The Bears quarterback, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 2008, created the foundation in 2009 to help children with diabetes learn how they can overcome the challenges of the disease.

The Jay Cutler Foundation acts on that mission by funding screening clinics to test for childhood diabetes, making it possible for kids with Type 1 diabetes to attend summer camps and show children with diabetes they can stay focused on their dreams.
