Cubs coaching staff shakeup continues with additions of Chili Davis, Brian Butterfield

The Cubs continued their offseason overhaul of their coaching staff on Thursday afternoon. Chili Davis was named hitting coach and Brian Butterfield third base coach as John Mallee and Gary Jones were not retained. Andy Haines was promoted from minor league hitting coordinator to assistant hitting coach after Eric Hinske left to become the Los Angeles Angels' hitting coach. This all comes after pitching coach Chris Bosio was let go earlier this week.

Mallee was hired prior to the 2015 season, but before the Cubs had hired Joe Maddon to replace Rick Renteria. Jones had been with the team since 2014 and Bosio since 2012.
