No matter how dicey the Bears’ playoff chances get over the next few weeks, when they’ll need an amazing run to make it, coach Matt Nagy won’t concede until it becomes a mathematical impossibility.
There’s no chance they’ll simply fold and concede the last few games. They made that clear Thursday night against the Cowboys.
It’s Nagy’s most admirable and refreshing quality. No matter how bleak or narrow the path, he’s defiantly positive. And there’s no doubt after listening to him all season that it’s authentic.
“You will never pull me down,” he said in October after the Bears got demolished by the Saints to fall to 3-3.
