Chicago Bears releasing cornerback Buster Skrine, source says

The Chicago Bears are releasing veteran cornerback Buster Skrine, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Bears will save $4.938 million against their salary cap with the move.

Skrine joined the Bears in 2019, signing a three-year, $16.5 million contract that included $8.5 million guaranteed.

Skrine appeared in 12 games, making three starts, and had 66 tackles and a forced fumble last season.

The 10-year veteran has also played for the Cleveland Browns and New York Jets and has 9 interceptions and 85 passes defended in his career.
