Chicago Bears release Tanner Gentry, lose Dieugot Joseph from their practice squad

Related Topics: Chicago Bears, Tanner Gentry

The Chicago Bears are releasing wide receiver Tanner Gentry, as first reported by Adam Jahns of the Chicago Sun Times. Gentry made his NFL debut on Sunday in Tampa, catching two balls for twenty-seven yards. He also had a drop late in the game and an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on special teams. Jahns says the hope is they can get him back to the practice squad where be began the 2017 season.

He did make it all the way through waivers once, so he might do it again.

If they are able to re-sign Gentry to their practice squad, they won’t have to release a player, because earlier today the Baltimore Ravens announced that they signed offensive lineman Dieugot Joseph off of Chicago’s practice squad.
