LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Chicago Bears have placed punt returner/receiver DeAndre Carter on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the team announced Thursday.
The Bears paused all in-person football activities Thursday morning after someone in the building had tested positive for COVID-19. The Bears immediately sent players and staff home and shifted to virtual meetings, but then scheduled a practice at Halas Hall for Thursday afternoon.
A number of Bears players and coaches were inside Halas Hall early Thursday morning when the team learned of the positive test -- the team's fourth since Monday.
"Obviously, we're not exempt from this pandemic," Bears coach Matt Nagy said on a hastily arranged Zoom call Thursday morning.
