The 2019 season was disappointing for Cordarelle Patterson. To be fair, it was less about Patterson and his play, and more about usage with Matt Nagy. The Chicago Bears have a versatile weapon with Patterson.
However, Nagy struggled to differentiate between using Patterson as a runner, and receiver. So, the question heading into the offseason is whether or not he will be used in a better manner or not.
This takes reading between the lines, but it appears his role may be more defined. The fact that the Bears have a thin depth chart at running back, and multiple depth options at receiver, shows that Patterson is likely to be viewed as a running back.
