Right after their season ended the New York Giants fired head coach Pat Shurmur after two straight losing seasons and a record of 9-23. Ryan Pace and the Chicago Bears announced the firing of 3 assistant coaches along with offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich right after their season ended.
The Bears are now looking for a new offensive coordinator and seeing that Shurmur is available, why not try and get him? Despite his struggles as a head coach, would he fit in well with Matt Nagy and the Bears?
He has a history of having a very strong running game, which is exactly what the Bears need to improve on heading into 2020.
