A growing sense amongst Bears fans seems to be a lack of trust in Marcus Cooper as the team’s backup outside cornerback and fifth overall cornerback of the group. After a poor performance against the Cincinnati Bengals, Cooper did not take another snap in the preseason.
He is dealing with an injury, easy to cut, coming off of not only a poor preseason but a miserable 2017 season. There is no sense of urgency in retaining Marcus Cooper.
The issue with getting rid of Cooper is that no one has been able to unseat him.
