The latest buzz surrounding the Chicago Bears assistant coaching search is about having some interest in Philadelphia Eagles assistant head coach/running backs coach Duce Staley. The Athletic’s Adam Jahns was the first to report Chicago’s interest in Staley, who today asked to be released from his contract with the Eagles. The Lions are also reported to have interest in him.
Staley has been coaching in Philly since 2011 and he is well respected and popular with his peers, his players, and fans. If the Bears do sign Staley, it’s assumed he’ll slide into the running backs coaching role that was vacated when Charles London left to be the new QB coach with the Falcons.
