Few positions on the Chicago Bears’ roster seem as set in stone as the defensive line. The only major contributor that isn’t returning is Mitch Unrein, but they addressed the position in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio will need someone to step in and fill Unrein’s role, but that guy was probably identified last year, which is why they decided to let Unrein walk as a free agent.
Akiem Hicks, who should have been in the Pro Bowl last year at defensive end, and Eddie Goldman, who plays the underappreciated nose tackle position, are going to be anchoring the d-line again in 2018.
