California native Matt Barkley stays warm in Chicago with wetsuit

CHICAGO -- How does a California kid play football in freezing Midwestern conditions?

By wearing a wetsuit, of course.

Chicago Bears quarterback Matt Barkley -- a native of Huntington Beach in California who attended the University of Southern California -- told ESPN’s Michele Steele on Sunday morning that he planned to wear a wetsuit under his uniform to combat the frigid conditions at Soldier Field when the Chicago hosted Green Bay.

Barkley had every reason to be concerned about the weather. The official temperature at game time was 11 degrees with a wind chill of minus-4.
