Betrayed by another bad start, Bears trail Lions 27-14 at halftime

A Lions defense that gave up 48 points last week isn’t having the same problem at Soldier Field.

The Bears trail 27-14 at halftime Sunday after falling behind 20-0 to the Lions. The culprit: two first-quarter fumbles by rookie receiver Rome Odunze, the first after a 19-yard pass and the second on a fly sweep handoff by quarterback Caleb Williams.

Williams and the Bears offense came out ice cold, as usual. The Bears were shut out in the first half of their previous three games and trailed by a total score of 53-0 at halftime.
