Earlier today the NFL announced the 32 nominees for the fourth annual Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award. The Chicago Bears’ nominee is running back Benny Cunningham.
There are a couple other players nominated with previous connections to the Bears. Quarterback Josh McCown of the New York Jets played in Chicago from 2011 to 2013, and Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Jermon Bushrod was a Bear from 2013 to 2015.
The award is given to a player with “outstanding sportsmanship on the field,” and it will be awarded at the NFL Honors show on Saturday, February 3 on NBC.
