The Bears waived cornerback Tre Roberson with a non-football injury, according to the NFL transactions report.
During Super Bowl week, the Bears signed Roberson, a former Illinois State quarterback, after he emerged as a Canadian Football League standout at cornerback. They later signed Artie Burns and drafted Jaylon Johnson to challenge for the starting job that belonged to Prince Amukamara before he was cut.
Johnson, a second-round pick from Utah, is the favorite to emerge from that group.
Roberson, who was an undrafted free agent with the Vikings in 2016, spent two years with the Calgary Stampeders, where he posted 10 interceptions and 95 tackles.
