BOURBONNAIS — Elliott Fry stepped toward the football Monday and his plant foot slipped on the wet grass at a rainy Olivet Nazarene University. Falling to the ground, he kicked the ball anyway. The 51-yard field goal attempt landed on the ground before it reached the end zone.
No matter. He lined up again and made the same 51-yard kick, finishing another strong performance. Fry made 8-of-10 tries, missing when he slipped and earlier on a 39-yarder.
“[Special teams coordinator Chris Tabor] and I talked about that — We don’t care about wind, we don’t care about rain, we don’t care about whatever,” head coach Matt Nagy said.
