The Bears are adding another outside linebacker to a stable that already includes starters Khalil Mack and Robert Quinn.
The team is giving Barkevious Mingo, a former first-round pick, a one-year deal. He’ll receive $1.18 million, according to the Houston Chronicle.
The sixth overall pick in 2013, Mingo has played for the Browns, Patriots, Colts, Seahawks and, last year, the Texans. He’s never posted more than five sacks in a season, and has 10 overall.
He’s familiar with the Bears’ system, though; Chuck Pagano, the Bears’ coordinator, was his head coach with the Colts in 2017.
