Bears’ tight end Trey Burton has a mild groin strain

After hearing all offseason that tight end Trey Burton should be ready to go week one against the Green Bay Packers after rehabbing from his hernia surgery, his availability now appears to be in doubt. Chicago Bears’ head coach Matt Nagy is calling Burton’s latest setback a “mild” groin strain and that it occurred last week. He also said, per the team doctors, that it is not related to the offseason surgery, and that he’s day to day. “It’s unfortunate, but at the same time we’re going to attack it head on,” Nagy said today from Halas Hall.
