Bears tight end Cole Kmet played fewer than half the snaps and got just one target in the season-opening win over the Titans, and that’s something offensive coordinator Shane Waldron needs to correct. The offense managed just three field goals and 148 total yards in that victory.
Kmet has played 70% of the snaps or more in 54 of 68 games with the Bears and averaged 5.3 targets per game last season while rolling up career highs with 73 catches for 719 yards. He was frustrated by his usage, but didn’t overreact to the first of 17 games.
