Bears sign WR Trevor Davis

The Bears are adding veteran competition at wide receiver, signing Trevor Davis to a one-year deal.

Davis started last season with the rival Packers before being traded to the Raiders and finishing the season with the Dolphins. He had 42 receiving yards against the Bears in London as a member of the Raiders.

He could help on special teams. At 6-foot-1, 188 pounds, Davis has averaged 10.1 yards as a punt returner and 22.4 yards on kickoff returns. The Packers drafted him in the fifth round out of Cal in 2016.

Players signed this week no longer count against teams’ compensatory pick formula in 2021.
