With rookies slated to report to training camp today around the NFL, the Chicago Bears are starting to get their draft class locked up. Earlier we got word of second-rounder Jaylon Johnson and seventh-rounder Lachavious Simmons signing via their social media accounts, and now we have a report from The Athletic’s Kevin Fishbain that the Bears have inked their top pick, second-round tight end Cole Kmet from Notre Dame.
Kmet is expected to compete at the Y (in-line) tight end spot for the Bears, but the coaches have already talked about his versatility to play some U (move) tight end as well.
