The Bears on Saturday signed punter Spencer Lanning and waived defensive tackle Brandon Dunn in advance of Sunday’s home game against the Raiders.
Lanning spent the past two seasons with the Browns, averaging 43.8 yards on 84 punts in 2013 and 44.3 yards on 93 punts in 2014. He was waived by Cleveland in June and has since had short stints with the Buccaneers and Broncos.
Lanning originally entered the NFL with the Bears in 2011 as an undrafted free agent from South Carolina, but failed to make the 53-man roster. He spent time during the 2012 offseason with the Jaguars, Browns and Jets.
