The 2-game suspension for Chicago Bears defensive back Marqui Christian ended today, so the team elected to release him in order to sign him to their practice squad.
His addition brings Chicago’s practice squad up to 15 players, one short of the maximum allowed, but if they release the recently activated Devante Bond from the main roster he’ll go back to their practice squad without passing through waivers.
Christian, who was originally a 5th-round draft pick of the Cardinals in 2016, has played nickel and safety during his four year career, but the bulk of his playing time has been spent as a special teamer.
