Linebacker T.J. Edwards has been one of Bears general manager Ryan Poles’ best signings, and he has far outplayed the contract he signed two years ago. As a reward, he got a major contract extension Wednesday.
The Bears agreed to a two-year, $20 million deal with Edwards that includes $16.6 million guaranteed and keeps him with the team through the 2027 season, sources said.
Edwards, from Lake Villa, started every game the last two seasons and had 284 tackles, 6 1/2 sacks, four fumble recoveries and four interceptions. His tackle total ranks fifth in the NFL over that span.
