Following the surprise move of the Bears releasing the franchise leader in scoring, kicker Robbie Gould, yesterday, on Monday the team announced his replacement.
This will be Connor Barth’s eighth NFL season having spent time with the Chiefs, Bucs and Broncos (where he played for both John Fox and special teams coordinator Jeff Rodgers). He was in camp with the New Orleans Saints but they cut him in favor of Kai Forbath.
Last season, with Tampa, Barth was 23/28 (82.1 percent) with a long of 53. For his career he’s hit on 84.8 percent of his field goals.
