The Chicago Bears lost a player off of their practice squad today when the Philadelphia Eagles signed center Barrett Jones. Chicago could have elected to promote Jones to their 53 man roster, but they decided to terminate his contract and let him head off to Philly.
To take Jones' place on the practice squad, the Bears signed center Cornelius Edison (6'3", 305), an undrafted free agent from Portland State. Last year as a senior, he was named the Rimington Award winner as the top center in the nation at the NCAA FCS level.
