Bears sign Bennie Fowler to one-year deal

With the Bears’ veteran minicamp on tap next week, they have elected to add some veteran depth at receiver in the form of a one-year deal for Bennie Fowler, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Fowler, 26, had spent the previous four seasons with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan State in 2014. There, he primarily served as a bottom of the depth chart target: amassing a total of 56 receptions, 698 yards, and five touchdowns in his time as a professional. At 6-foot-2, 217 pounds, he offers size and dependability in his specific niche role on a roster.
