Bears sign Barth to replace Gould

The Bears' busy Labor Day weekend continued Monday as they signed kicker Connor Barth and long-snapper Patrick Scales and released guard Amini Silatolu and long-snapper Aaron Brewer.

Connor Barth has appeared in 83 NFL games over seven seasons.

Barth, 30, replaces Bears all-time leading scorer Robbie Gould, who was released Sunday night after spending his entire 11-year NFL career in Chicago. General manager Ryan Pace told reporters Monday that Gould was cut after Barth became available.

Barth has appeared in 83 NFL games over seven seasons, making 84.8 percent of his field-goal attempts (139 of 164).
