The Bears split up their practice into two separate areas Monday, Bears coach Matt Nagy said, as the team takes a dual track this week. The team’s starters have begun preparing for the Sept. 5 opener against the rival Packers, while the backups are focusing on Thursday’s preseason finale against the Titans.
Nagy, who started the season on a Thursday night two years ago with the Chiefs and opened against the Packers last year, said he needs to walk a fine line when preparing for Week 1.
“You look ahead too far too soon, it becomes quote-un-quote one of those Super Bowl weeks that you hear about, where you’re prepping so much or you’re putting so much stuff in that it ends up getting the best of you,” Nagy said.
