The pairing between new Bears coordinator Thomas Brown and quarterback Caleb Williams produced a field goal in its first drive together.

Down 7-0 at Soldier Field on Sunday, the Bears drove 34 yards against the Packers to kick a 53-yard Cairo Santos field goal. That’s a modest improvement on the Bears’ struggles the last three games, when they averaged nine points per game under former offensive coordinator Shane Waldron.

The Bears had scored only 10 points in the first quarter all season entering Sunday’s rivalry game.

The Bears’ opening drive was highlighted by a 16-yard Williams scramble to convert on third-and-eight and a 16-yard screen pass to receiver DJ Moore on the next play.
