The Bears have a second player opting out: safety Jordan Lucas, whom they signed to a one-year deal in March.
The team announced the move Monday. Eddie Goldman, the standout nose tackle, opted out last week because of coronavirus concerns.
The Bears hoped Lucas, a champion with the Chiefs, would be a contributor on special teams.
Last week, general manager Ryan Pace said he hadn’t been told by any other players — beside Goldman — that they were opting out.
